Source: Indosport

The lawsuit filed against Persija Jakarta has finally come to an end. Based on FIFA's decision as the mother of world football, Persija is required to pay a nominal amount of 13,4 billion to one of its former foreign strikers, Marko Simic. Marko Simic once wore a Persija uniform in the 2018-2022 season and led Persija to win several prestigious championships in the country. Marko Simic's salary arrears occur during the 2020 to 2022 season.

This dispute began when Marco Simic officially terminated his contract unilaterally with Persija Jakarta in April 2022. Simic said his decision to terminate the contract unilaterally was because Persija had been in arrears of his salary for a year. This was also revealed by Simic through his social media account.

Persija Jakarta is required to pay off Marko Simic's salary a maximum of 45 days after the announcement of the decision by FIFA. The decision itself was issued by FIFA on 6 September 2022 and is in the process of being finalized. If within the specified time, Persija cannot pay off the arrears, then Persija will be subject to sanctions by the FIFA disciplinary committee.
