The Bad Performance of The Referee Ruined Indonesian Football

Persija Jakarta's 2-0 win against Arema FC in week 24 was tarnished due to bad referee decisions. The match which was held on Sunday 12 April was won by Persija Jakarta where the goal scorer from Persija was Hanif Sjahbandi in the 36th minute through the white point after he was violated in the penalty box. The second goal was scored by the 29-year-old former Czech Republic national team player, Michael Kremencik in the 78th minute through an assist provided by Osvaldo Hay.

The strange thing here is that in the second goal it was seen that Michael Kremencik was clearly offside and far ahead goalpost but the referee still approves the goal.

For those of you who don't know, the BRI Liga 1 or the Indonesian league is currently known for having referees who are less observant and often cause controversy due to their decisions that are considered to be in favor of one side or completely break the rhythm of a game in a football match.

After repeated mistakes that occur in every match, Indonesian football fans and supporters of each team hope that the new PSSI chairman will improve the referee's performance and add Video Assistance Reffere or what is commonly known as VAR in order to help and minimize the mistakes of the League referee. 1 to reduce controversy and also friction from fans with the match committee. The PSSI chair itself will be held on Thursday 16 February 2023 to determine the new leader of Indonesian football with Erick Thohir as the strongest candidate to win at the Extraordinary Congress.
