Controversy on One of the Indonesian National Team Naturalization Players

Naturalized players are now a hot issue among Indonesian football fans. It is also rumored that a number of names from hereditary players are undergoing the naturalization process to defend the red and white. One of the most popular names is Justin Hubner, who recently canceled being a naturalized player for the Indonesian national team.

This was confirmed by a member of the PSSI executive committee where it was stated that Justin's party had made a request during his naturalization process that could not be fulfilled by PSSI. There was news that the player of Dutch-Indonesian descent asked PSSI for Rp. 16 billion to be naturalized.

The request was made after Indonesia failed to appear at the 2023 U-20 World Cup. On the other hand, Justin Hubner has just been called up to the Dutch U-20 national team. PSSI finally officially stopped Justin Hubner's naturalization process and canceled his status as Indonesian Citizen (WNI).
